road trip!!

disclaimer: the guy who took this pic may (or may not) have been drunk... it was a little
too much for him to get us all in the pic... hahahha.

We took a road trip to Austin last week with a couple friends. Checked out for the first time Wahoo's. It was super yummy, but I'm definitely still a Chipotle girl!! We got caught walking in the rain of 6th street, hit the Whole Foods store, and then Ikea on the way home. Love hanging with my girls... doesn't matter what we're doing... or that we were up till 2am the night before together... BUT I did learn that
5 hours of sleep + 3 hours in the car the next day = EXHAUSTING!!

Their AWESOME stroller that Miss & Jade took advantage of!

cute kiddos playing their recorders at the Whole Foods store
more cute kiddos... at ikea... on a little date?? :)

my bridal session last week.

I don't talk much about my business on here mostly because I have a separate blog for that. But this is a story I can't resist sharing here.

I had a bridal session last week. The girl is living in New York, working for the Tyra Banks show... flew out here for her session with me. Awesome. They paid big money for a 3 hour session... and I. COULD. NOT. WAIT. I pulled up into their seriously impressive neighborhood feeling small, and inadequate. Found their incredible house, walked up to the door, trying look confident, and excited.  I rang the doorbell, sat there for a few moments waiting, finally a girl came to the door wearing a towel, and her hair wet. At first I thought it was my bride ( I had only seen pictures of her at this point) and I panicked thinking she was going to be seriously late getting ready. The girl said "Oh are you guys meeting here? Make yourself at home... and RAN up the stairs... leaving me alone. Well almost alone. Sitting there with 2 large dogs and 1 small dog, seriously attacking me. licking me, jumping on me... you know, the works...

I sat there with these dogs for about 5 or 10 minutes (seemed like WAY WAY longer) I sat there playing on my phone for a while, then started looking around at the pictures and such... i started to notice I didn't recognize the mom (who I had met) or the bride (who I had seen pictures of) in ANY of the pictures... I kept looking around and noticed a plaque with 3 kids names on it---no Lacey (the bride)... all of a sudden

I PANICKED!!! I was in the WRONG HOUSE... hahaha I slowly and quietly walked outside and checked mail box... yep! Wrong address... hahaha. oh man, I am STILL laughing at myself for this one. I went next door, to the right house... told my bride the story explaining why I was 10 minutes late, and they laughed with me. Good times.

ps. The session went AMAZING!

terrified mother alert...

I like to think of myself as a cautious but not OVERLY cautious mother. I try to give my babes space, and try to let them explore things and learn things on there own. At the same time, I am DEFINTELY watching over there shoulder, and watching out for them.

I took Jaden to his 3yr Doctor appointment. As always, we spent almost 2 hours in the waiting room alone. They have a little fish tank and Jaden was sitting there looking at the fish, me right across from him, no more than 5 feet away... giving him space, but staying close ;) Another little boy came up next to him, probably about 4 or 5 yrs old. And starting making froggy "ribbit" noises. Jaden thought this was absolutely hilarious and starting joining him, saying "RIBBIT!! RIBBIT!!" over and over. The (trashy) kid looked over at him raised his fist back and said, "You better shut up before I punch you!!" AHHHHHH!!! I FREAKED out leaped up, grabbed Jaden and held him on my lap for the rest of our time. OHMYGOSH!!! What kind of kid says that, and why to my sweet little boy? I have a hard time thinking I will ever be able to let him go to school... somehow I will... hopefully a nice school though. UGH! I got home and told Cam, who questioned why I didn't go freak out at the kids parents for saying that... I explained to him that I was even MORE terrified of the creepy white trash parents -- I sound rude huh? but seriously I think I deserve to be.

phrase of the day.

"let Mommy do it!"

There are still some things I feed Kennedy so she doesn't get it everywhere, for the most part she feeds herself, but things like yogurt and stuff, I don't trust her with yet. Anyway, whenever I feed her, if she tries to grab the spoon I pull it away and tell her to let Mommy do it --Jade was sharing his PBJ with Sis yesterday, and kept feeding her bites. She went to grab for the sandwich and he quickly pulled it away, and said, "let Mommy do it!" and then proceeded to give her another bite.

5K Race for the Cure!!

A fun day filled with AMAZING memories I will never forget!

PRESENTS!!! An awesome birthday for Jade!!

We celebrated Jaden's birthday the weekend before, so Cam could be a part of it! It was so much fun! He got lots of awesome presents, including a gift card from Grandma and Grandpa Berrett (that he got an awesome train table with) and a picnic table & sandbox from Grandma and Grandpa Heyland. It was really neat to see how much he has changed since the last time he got presents (christmas). He was SO grateful for everything he got. Every time he opened something he got SO excited, and spent a couple minutes playing with it (or reading it) so we would know he like it. It was really cute.

diego activity book (i love his face in this one! He is seriously stoked!)
police car
playing with new toys is the best!
big hug for daddy

Ahh! Caught in the act!
Totally moving in on Jade's presents when he wasn't watching!
