happy valentines day.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Valentines Day! I enjoyed a nice quiet day at home with the kiddos, filled with projects and lots of love! Here are a few scenes from our day :)

For dinner we made pizza together, with the most adorable little heart shaped pepperoni, heart shaped jello jigglers, and we turned milk pink with nesquik strawberry syrup.
It was the perfect day.

Cam and I will celebrate Valentines Day together next week in Europe. I. Can't. Wait.

xoxo, nicole

ideas & inspiration:

school valentines party day.

we put together some fun valentines to give to all of their friends, and jade carefully wrote his name on each of the valentines. i was so proud of him! they were SO excited to go to their school parties!

sissy in her valentines day outfit
jade in his valentines day outfit.
his hair is getting looong!! we actually cut it just a couple days later... more on that later.

snow day.

February was a month of a lot of snow, and a LOT of coldness! Several of the days we had a real feel of -30 degrees. brrrr. these pics are definitely not one of those super cold days, but still pretty cold... we played with some hearts to get some cute valentines pictures!

he was having the time of his life!

the next week we got 9 inches of snow, it was craziness. school/work was cancelled, and it ended up being an amazing day staying inside, cuddled up!

Jade begged and begged to go out and play in it the next day...
we finally gave in, but didn't bother putting on snow clothes, because we new it was just too, too cold. he started outside, and couldn't have agreed with us more! He was back inside within a matter of seconds! :)

special delivery.

a couple days before valentines day we had a very special delivery at our door! It was a box, addressed to Jaden & Kennedy... from Grandma & Grandpa Berrett, they were SO excited to get that box open!
and even more excited when they found out what was inside...

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Berrett!! We loved our special delivery!

iPhone love.

These kids love, love, love their iPhones. Jade plays all sorts of cute little games, his favs right now are a couple different letter and spelling ones, "angry birds", and his new fav that auntie kenz taught him to play is "cut the rope".

I love the way his little hands hold it.

and how he teachers her how to play new games

i love the way it holds his full and complete attention. when i asked to take a picture of him, he gave me a little half smile, while still looking at the phone.

i guess that is a little better :)

i LOVE this boy.

and i LOVE this girl.

Onion "O" painting + owls.

More learning about the letter O, we decided to try Onion painting.
Cut the onion in half, dig out the middle layers, and dip it in paint!

Jade thought it was so awesome!
It took Sissy a minute to figure it out, but she loved it too!

Later we had special O is for owl sandwiches

cheerio "O" necklaces

we've decided to supplement jade's letter learnings at school, specifically, helping him learn to write, and for sissy just to learn the letters, and begin practicing to write. We will be working on the letter a week before Jade starts learning it at school, so he'll be super prepared when his teachers start teaching him the letter. This week was O, sissy was super-duper sick, so we started with a project I knew she would love.

making necklaces.
the only thing i had to make them with was floral wire... not super comfy to wear, but i knew the fun part would be making them anyway. so we did.
jade definitely ate more than he put on his necklace, which actually turned out to be a bracelet, because that is as big as he made it, after he had eaten so many.
he snacked on it a little after he put it on too.
sissy put her necklace on, but at that point, she was feeling super crummy and ready for another cuddle.
showing that his bracelet made the letter "O"
