Jade started kindergarten last week!! He was so excited to start! He really wanted to set his alarm clock to wake up, and woke up at 6:50am, he was immediately alert and so excited!
We got ate breakfast, got ready, and head out the door!
Handsome Kindergartener!
she just adores him
standing in front of the school... maybe starting to get a little nervous...
i had a hard time wanting to let my baby go...
i got to walk him in, and find his class (for the first 2 days) and we found his locker, and got all of his stuff put away.
so excited about his locker!
he was being brave and totally fine, so i kissed him and said goodbye, starting heading out the door, and he burst into tears. it was horrible. he had been having an emotionally weird couple of weeks, really since we got back from Utah he has just been connected to me at all times, never wanting to be without me. Even when he would go to the bathroom he would ask me to come by the door... so I kinda expected something. But it was so sad. Anyway, he begged for me to let him come home with me, cuz he just wanted to be with me. We had a little talk, I bribed him with letting him buy lunch (instead of eating the lunch he brought). And he eventually calmed down, and I went home. Bawling.
fortunately, i had this little missy to keep me occupied. she insisted that we go do her school shopping, because I "promised we would go while jade was at school" so we did. i worried the whole day. but at least we were busy shopping. here's kennedy with her new "twinkle toes" back pack.
then we went to Decatur to visit daddy and went out to lunch at Fuzzy's with him. that helped too... i think she was missing him too.
when we picked him up after school, he looked like this. and was totally emotional and almost in tears.
he reported that he had cried 4 times throughout the day. brokemyheart. all 3 times (because the 1st time was when i dropped him off) were when his teacher left him. he had attached onto her, and didn't understand why he would be left with other teachers. later i found out crying meant feeling sad and emotional, not actually crying out loud, like the picture above (that was one of the times, because a different teacher walked them out)
overall i think he had a good day though.
he brought this home for me. i'll keep it forever :)
So that was a week ago yesterday. He has been doing great since then! He has been really excited to go back every day, wakes up before his alarm at 6:40am goes off every morning, and set his alarm for 6:40am on Sunday morning too, lucky us :)
The second day of school he cried 3 times, and was really excited, because that was even better than the first day. And the third day he cried 1 time. Since then, he has had no tears, is meeting new friends, and is the "Star Student" this week, and got to bring a poster (which I forgot to take a picture of) of all about him, so his class can learn about him, and he gets to be the special helper all week.
I'm so proud of what a big boy he has become.
He is so sweet, so brave, and so smart, and I just love him to pieces.
