no more monkeys!!!

my crazy little monkey's jumping on the couch. They are total partners in crime, and total best friends. This is their favorite thing to do together right now. Jaden is always asking Sissy to come play with him, which means to come jump on the couch with him.

oh... and they leap off of them too...
sure it may be destroying my couches, and almost breaking their necks... but they are happy. and hilarious.

game night!

we love love love the fall, for many reasons.... mostly, for our DALLAS COWBOYS! Seriously, we plan our whole week around the games... they are a really really REALLY big deal here at the Berrett household!!! Sis mostly does the "looking cute" part of the day! Jade LOVES watching football with Daddy, and will sit there and hold a football throughout the entire game.... wasn't really in the mood for pictures though... but guess who was?! :)

feeling creative.

weird. cuz apart from photography and my business, i very rarely feel creative. i feel like i use my creative self plenty while shooting, editing and designing, and so i usually don't when i'm not working. anyhoo. i've been in a little bit of a creative mood lately. like i feel like doing a big project or something. well, i settled for a cute little craft with the kids... it was super fun for me and Jade... but apparently Kennedy wasn't feeling as creative as i was...

aw! Poor baby! This picture really does break my heart. Would you even believe that this is just a silly fit. She felt like her whole world was ending... she kills me...

...but we pulled through it, and made some cute Martha Stewart puppets! We only made it through 2 of the 4 (my kids really aren't the "patient and crafty" type) so we'll have to make the other 2 another day!

oh, and i've started decorating Kennedy's room. I put up some pink and brown dots (just like she had in her room at our old place) and I'm going to put her name up in vinyl, and got some cute little things at hobby lobby today to put on a simple white shelf. And then, I'm going to do a couple canvases of her for the wall too... I know it's not TOO thrilling, but hey, we are still in law school, so i had to do something cheap!! I'll post pics when it's all done!

big, scary spiders.

my poor boy. he just had his first confirmed nightmare. he's woken up crying in the night before.... actually, a lot recently. but tonight is the first time he's told me why he was sad. i went in to tuck him back into bed, and he couldn't stop crying, I asked him what was wrong, and he told me, "the big spiders are so scary" :( broke my heart.

especially since, this is TOTALLY my fault... okay it's Cam's fault too... it is the only thing he EVER sees us scared of, and we are. we are both totally freaked of spiders, every time we see one, we freak out... i guess this is something that needs to change.

i am OFFICIALLY NOT scared of spiders. there, i said it. it has to be true now... right?

or maybe i should just get a bug guy to come again, so we don't have so many around... then we won't have to think about spiders at all.

mailbox.

cutest little idea ever!! In Preschool this week, Jade and his class talked about extended families, and ways to keep in contact with them. The cute Mom who taught this week made these ADORABLE mailboxes, and asked us to have everyone in Jaden's family send a letter. So when he opened his special mailbox he found mail!! It was so sweet! We came home and opened all his mail, and he was THRILLED. He kept calling them presents, it was so funny!

My friend Michelle just moved into a cute little house down in Waco. Yesterday we went over for a little playdate, and a tour of the new house! It was so cute! And I can't wait to see what she does with it!! My favorite part of their house... the backyard...

And conveniently enough, right across the street is the fire station! Mich made cookies and we brought them over to the firemen and they let us check out the fire trucks! Jade LOVED it!

teaching preschool...

...is seriously terrifying!

I was super duper nervous the day before, WAY over prepared, and WAY over stressed. It went awesome though. Everything was perfect! I'm feeling a lot better about this whole preschool thing now! Here are a couple pics of Jade with his little preschool friends!!

We talked about the colors green, purple and orange so we had green grapes, purple licorice and orange goldfish! Yum, yum YUM!!
AND we also talked about our families!! So we glued together a picture of our families!

I absolutely love this shot Lauren got of Kennedy. I don't really have many shots of her with her special blankey, just because she really only has it during quiet time, or naps or bedtime. And I usually don't have my camera out during those times. Anyway, I love it. Here's what I love about it:

1. I love the way she holds the little taggies of the blanket and smells them. She puts the silky tag in between her fingers and just feels the material as she is smelling it... kinda random, and i'm not sure why she decided this is what she would do with it, but she's done it ever since she was tiny.

2. I love how she is totally in her "blankey" mode staring off, calm, peaceful, adorable.

3. I love that you can see her orange cheeto fingers.

4. Poor little baby totally fell and bonked her head, and got a MASSIVE bruise. I usually edit bruises and scabs out of pictures, but I'm leaving this one in, because I really want to remember what a wild/fearless baby she is.

Great Wolf Lodge!!!

So we have totally heard of the Great Wolf Lodge, but couldn't have imagined just how cool it would be!! Jade was in bunk-bed heaven!! He always loves staying at hotels, but this one had a separate room for kids with bunk beds and his own flat screen tv, and it was just pretty much the coolest thing EVER!!

And Sis was in "Pupp-eeee!" heaven!! At the entrance (darn it... i should have taken a pic) their are giant wolf statues thingers, as we were walking in she was FREAKING out "Pupp-eeee! Pupp-eeeeeeee!!" Then... lucky us, we could see them out of our window. So cool, so exciting!!
Our room was a log cabin theme, but my parent's room was more of a den theme. It was so neat, and Sis thought the little mousey on the wall was SO CUUUUTE!!
It was so fun to catch up with my family! Some of them we hadn't seen for over a year, so we were so excited when they invited us to come up to Dallas and play!!

Jade loved playing with Uncle Tanner, he was so sweet to play with him pretty much non-stop the whole time we were there!

the hotel was right next to DFW airport, and so of course airplanes kept flying past! Every time Jade and Kennedy would get SO excited and run to the window to see them!!

It was Brett's birthday, so we hit up PF Changs for his birthday dinner! It was so super yummy, and fun to be together!

Jaden was pretty much a pro at the chopsticks. He ate every single bite of his food with them! That's just how he rolls! :)

Cam took Sis out during the meal (she may or may not have been a little grumpy) and found her a flower. Then when we all went out after she kept recruiting Grandpa and Kenzie to get her flowers. Pretty sure she picked a whole bush or 2 bare! Oops!

It was time to leave, and Jade had been having so much fun with Tanner all day. Sweet, sweet Tanner gave him his Cowboys football. Jaden was THRILLED! (thanks again Tan!)
