his very first artwork.

we do lots and lots of coloring, and practicing writing letters, but this is his very first artwork! I am such a proud Momma and this seriously could not be cuter... he 2 eyes, a nose, mouth, hair, ears, an owie on his face, and I'm not sure at the bottom if that was the body, or a beard or something. lol. i love this picture, so i just had to put it on here to remember it forever.

ps. this post is out of order, i just couldn't wait to post it... he did this last Sunday, May 16th in his Sunbeams class.

Jaden's 4th Birthday!

I honestly cannot believe my baby boy is already 4 years old!!! He is getting to be a big boy, WAY too fast for me!! We love every minute with this sweet sweet boy. I will have to do more of an update on him on another post... because this post is all about his PAR-TAY!!

*speaking of parties, today Jade and Sis were playing together, and Jade says, "Okay, are you ready to get this party started?!" Ahaha. Me and Cam were DYING. He's pretty much the funniest kid I have ever seen. I love him. Okay... back to the birthday party...

He decided on a Lightening McQueen birthday party, and we decided on a surprise party. We got all the party decorations set up, and his cake out and everything, and then called him to come out, and yelled "SURPRISE!!"
He was completely thrilled. It made my day.
We put our party hats on, and our Lightening McQueen wristbands, and got ready to open some presents!
Sis was more hurt and more jealous than I have ever seen her. This pic kinda shows how she felt :(
Toy Story 2!!
Trio's blocks, the wizards castle. way awesome.
Leag Frog, My First Computer, and a Lightening McQueen game...
and the big one...
a BBQ... which he was STOKED about
me and my 4 yr old.
Sis trying to put on a happy face :)
the rest of the day was spent playing with his toys... Sis was standing next to me bawling... poor girl, she totally did NOT get why she wasn't being spoiled with presents....
Jade trying out his new computer game
and finally birthday cake...

he dug right in to get the car on top...
later we went outside to BBQ some dinner, so Jade brought his BBQ out to help!
we played in the backyard and enjoyed the beautiful Texas spring evening...

oh, and we got special lemonades for Jade, because they are his favorite...

after baths, we brought Jade's mattress out to the front room, and watched his new movie, Toy Story 2 as a family, with popcorn and drinks.

It was a perfect night, we all ended up on the mattress together cuddling. I could not have been happier. Neither could Jade, he's a total cuddler and I think his day turned out exactly perfect for him.

Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy!

quick trip to S.A.

At the Riverwalk... definitely one of our favorite places. Such an awesome atmosphere, and the kids love the water/boats/ducks etc...

Cam and Jade.
me and Sis
The next day we went to the San Antonio Zoo for the first time!
Sissy just entered this stage where she is even MORE obsessed with animals... she insisted on stopping at every single animal, and saying hi, and inspecting them, then saying bye to each of them.
It was for sure not our favorite zoo, and it was pretty busy/dirty/crowded... this was def the highlight of our visit, brushing the goats hair...
Well, Sissy's highlight was the PINK flamingos... she is honestly SOOOO obsessed with pink, so she was really excited to see a pink animal!
so cool...

So we felt like the Zoo was a little bit of a bust, but on our way out we noticed this little train... Jade had mentioned it on our way in, and we weren't sure if it was operating, but just as we got there it was getting loaded up! So we hopped on, and went for a ride!!
Sis was excited, and posing it up for me!

Jade was trying soooooo hard to keep it cool, even though he was more excited than he could even handle!
as soon as the train started Sissy got way nervous. She hates loud things, and she kept telling me, "It's too loud!" haha. I love this picture of her... she is such a girly girl!
Jade still trying to play it cool, so thrilled to be riding this train!
my boys... i love them.
the end! I'm sure if I would have blogged this trip a month ago, when we actually went, I would have more to say, but I am glad I have pictures to help me remember some of the details! And slowly but surely I WILL get caught up on my blog... or at least that is what I keep telling myself!! :)

Learning Days!! Easter, E, 5, Oval

This was a fun week, because there are so many great ideas for Easter projects, so we kept ourselves super busy! We talked all about Easter, the letter E, the number 5 and our shape was an oval. We also learned the song "I am a Child of God"

One of our number activities was to count the popsicle sticks, and then we made the letter E out of them, but Jade was more interested in making the letter A, which is currently his fav letter!

we colored with markers on wooden easter eggs
for our letter of the week, we made an Easter Egg E
I've noticed lately Jade sticks his tongue out every time he is really concentrating... kinda cute

we drew an oval on a paper, and painted it

notice the tongue again :)
then while that dried we made the chick
then we cut the oval out, and glued circles on to decorate the egg...
put it all together and...
an adorable egg, that cracks open and inside you find a chick...

Jade opened and closed it over and over and over. He loved his little project!

I have to say this whole week, the thought of eggs kinda grossed me out, I was definitely thinking too much about the fact that chicks are inside of eggs... I'm over it now though!

I taught preschool the week of Easter, and we talked about Easter, and made a card for our Mom & Dad's, the card starts out as an Easter Egg sitting in the grass, and then you open it and it is an Easter Bunny!
and I stayed up waaay too late the night before preschool, making these adorable treats
cupcake bunnies and chick eggs... they were a big hit.
we ate delish bunny sandwiches
she thought it was so cute, she didn't want to "break" it for the longest time

we made an egg/oval shaped color wheel matching game with clothes pins to attach the right color

we colored a letter E worksheet, notice how good Jade is getting at tracing the capital letters all by himself!!
we played a listening game where we shook the easter eggs, and tried to find the one with goldfish in it

we made a numbers matching game out of oval (egg) shapes
