coloring easter eggs!

We decorated Easter Eggs together on Easter day! It was a beautiful sunny day, so we went outside to dye them!

I love this next shot of jaden throwing the egg into the dye, we kept telling him to put in gently, but of course he would throw them in! So, it cracks me up that you can see the dye splashing out on the side!

While we were waiting for them to dry we played in the backyard! I love this cute boy!

Jade has decided that it is more fun to jump off the slide then actually slide down it! Crazy kid!

Here is the finished product!!

Easter morning 2010.

Jaden was so excited to run out to the front room to see if the Easter Bunny had come!

Jade was so excited about all the toys... Sis was so excited about all the chocolate and candy!

We did a little mini Easter Egg hunt in the kitchen/front room! Apparently the "Easter Bunny" way underestimated their finding skills and they found all the eggs within about 2 minutes! They still loved it!

Finally Sis noticed and was excited about her toys, but as you can see she kept her hand on the chocolate bunny the whole time! :)

our Easter eve.

Easter Egg Hunt with our Besties!!

My cute friend Mich had a little Easter Egg hunt for the babes. They have the perfect backyard for it, and the kids had a blast!
Of course Sis followed the puppy everywhere! :)
And she just loves baby Colt!

he was running so fast around the yard, picking up every Easter Egg in sight.. sometimes being the oldest kid around pays off!!

Rome was sad, and Sis was trying to make him feel better!
So proud of all of his eggs!
sharing with Rome... she still loves this boy!

she wanted so bad to share her candy with Colt too!

All the babes and their candies!!

ringling brothers clowns!

We love our cute little Hewitt library. It is pretty small, and old. But we always get great books, the librarians are extra sweet, AND every week they have a story time for the kids. This week 2 clowns from the Ringling Brothers Circus came!!

Jaden thought they were seriously hilarious!
No pictures of Sis, because she was cuddled close on my lap, maybe just a *little* nervous.
(It's okay clowns kinda freak me out too!)

They gave us awesome stickers, and clown noses!!
It was a super fun morning!

TNO: San Antonio Style!

I went to San Antonio last week with my besties, to visit Steph one last time before she has her new babe! It was so fun hanging with these girls again! Mel has officially moved back to Waco, and I couldn't be happier about it!! We went down to the Riverwalk and ate a delish dinner, took in the sights, and saw the Alamo!

Unfortunately, Em, wasn't really there, she was just photoshopped into the pic above. We wish :(

When we got back to Steph's house we had a surprise mini baby shower for her!
As always, we stayed up too late, laughing and talking!

Next morning, we woke up and went to a yummers breakfast place called Magnolias!
It was such a fun, quick visit, I love any chance I get to be with these girls!!

Dinosaur World!!!

This place was so super awesome, and because we had been learning about dinos all week, the kids were SOOO excited!
Jade's fav dino is the Stegosaurus, so when we turned the corner, and saw them in the distance, he took off running!

T-REX!!! Ah!! This pic kinda freaks me out, the kids don't associate dinos with scary, just cool, so it didn't freak them out as bad as it did me! They just loved it!

Learning Days: D, 4, dinosaurs, blue

This weeks themes were Dinosaurs, blue, D, 4 and a cute little song, "I'm a Mean Old Dinosaur" The song is to the tune of "I'm a little Teapot" and they have been singing it all week! It is so cute!
We started the week making dinosaur puzzles, we colored the dinosaurs then cut them in half...
mixed them all up, and practiced find the right head to go with the right body. Jade LOVED this activity, he's jumping... which means he's excited :)
Then we made a "Dinosaur D"

Our plan is to make a letter every week, and then make a book out of them!
For blue, we made blue playdoh together

Magically changed water blue with food coloring, and then practiced our pouring skills and poured the water into ice cube trays, and then froze them, for a later activity!
Played with our blue playdoh...

Jade is officially obsessed with seeing his name, and finding letters in it, so we made his name out of playdoh, and then I made the coolest dinosaur ever to be made out of playdoh...
Then we had a blue party!! We all dressed up in blue, but I totally spaced getting a pic of the whole fam. Blue was a HARD color to make a whole meal out of, so we had blue juice boxes, "blue" corn chips, blueberries, blue mashed potatoes, "blue" yogurt, and blue choco covered bananas (but the blue choco, was totally lumpy and ick) and then of course we used blue plates, and bowls! The kids both LOVE doing this, and it is fun to go to the store and look for blue foods together!
our ice cubes were frozen by the time we were done with dinner, so we took them outside, and plopped them into warm water and watched them melt, and turn the water blue, and really just splashed around and had fun!
oh, and we practiced picking them up with spoons
Then, after learning about dinosaurs all week, we went to Dinosaur World in Glenrose, TX. It was super awesome, and fun, and every dinosaur we found, Jade tried to tell us which one it was, some he was right, like T-Rex, Triceratops, and the Stegosaurus, but anything he didn't know he would run up to it and say "WOW! It's a SAURUS!!"
There were over 100 life sized dinosaurs, I'll probably do a separate post on this later, so I can add more pics!
I love this cute boy!
That evening we went out, and did another ice experiment. The dinos were all stuck in the ice!
We squirted hot water on it, to help get them out...
It was taking forever, so we just ended up putting the ice right into the hot water, and eventually we got the dinos out!!!! It was so exciting :)
We have been practicing writing letters a lot lately, specifically the first 4 letters, A, B, C, & D, and this is the first time he has totally got it! Check out all his awesome A's on this pic! I was SOOO proud of him!!! He's pretty good at tracing too!

The whole time Sissy colors, she is saying letters, trying to be just like Jade, acting like she is writing words too. It is so sweet! It looks like she even drew an A on this one, but it could have been an accident!
This was a SUPER fun week!!
