laundry

me & jade are still bogged down sick and tired... and tired of being sick

we've done nothing but lay around just trying to keep our composure... i haven't been able to get an ounce of work done (please note that blogging is way more relaxing than working) anyway, sis is just frankly getting bored. she wants to get up and go, and do some fun things, all weekend she has been asking if we want to go to jumping party, the zoo, the park, swimming, and more, i just keep telling her we are too sick.

today she had had enough.

she came up to me and said, "Mommy?! do YOU want to go do LAUNDRY!?!?!"
*notice the capital letters showing her trying to get me excited about it*

yes, that is how pathetic i have been. and yes, i did honor her by doing a single load of laundry with her. she also encouraged me to fold them after. lol.

i love my little laundry folding baby.

bummer.

we were all ready to go, soccer drink and all...
on our way to soccer practice...
first we went to the wrong park, in a totally terrifying area, then i re-listened to the message, and realized we were at the wrong park, and headed over to the right park only 3 or 4 minutes late... much better area... phew!

we waited and waited, and we never saw a coach or any kids his age... :( bummer

so we went home, and drank our soccer drinks. he was acting really weird, and i was thinking it had to do with not being able to find soccer, then he started looking really flushed, and within a couple hours he had a fever of 101.6 - bummer.

so that means for the past 3 weeks someone has been sick in our house, first cam for a week, then right as he started getting better sis got it, then as she started getting better i got it, and i am right in the middle of it now, hopefully just about to get better, and now jade has it. UGH! so lame. anyway, he is laying on the coach barely there, not feeling great at all...

total bummer.

everyday things i heart #1

i want to start documenting some of the everyday things we do, that i just take advantage of... they seem so obvious right now, but i know these will be the special things i want to remember...

starting with library books...
seriously what could be cooler than a fresh collection of new (used) books every week!! the kids both love reading, they love when we read to them, and they love reading to themselves

we looooove library books.

jumping, running & kicking.

jade starts soccer this week!! he was supposed to have a practice on tuesday, but it was rained out, so now he has one tonight.

on monday we went and bought his cleats, shin guards, and special socks. we came home and put them on him, and he FREAKED out... like got totally nervous, threw a fit, and was put in time out, when he came out of time out, he had ripped all of his soccer gear off... not happy.

we slowly talked to him about, cam explained what it is, that we aren't going to be leaving him, we will stay there and watch, and he gets to meet new friends.

we also may or may not have said that if he doesn't do soccer he has to do swim lessons (he was not a big fan of swim lessons)

he got a little bit used to the idea, and we put the gear back on, and cam taught him some things about soccer...

don't touch the ball with your hands, just kick it with your feet
soccer cleats help you run fast in the grass
he translated that to "soccer cleats help you jump high"
running super fast
sis got jealous, and said she wanted to do soccer too, we told her when she's a little bit older she can do dance lessons. she ran back to her room and put her tutu on. came back and did some special dance moves for us... she may or may not think that she is going to "ballerine" lessons tonight... uh oh
he got really excited about it all
she wanted the attention too

cute soccer boy
so we'll see how it goes tonight!! can't wait! :)

my sweet jaden.

i love this little boy more than i can even express.

he melts my heart every single day.

i just want to record a few things about jade right now...

*every once in a while i will catch him staring at my eyelashes... ever since he was tiny he would grab at my eyelashes, play with them, touch them, and eventually it got to pulling them. it relaxed him, and comforted him. it started to hurt and so at some point we stopped him from doing it anymore. for the longest time he would try over and over to touch them, but we had to stop him. now, every once in a while i will catch him staring at my eyelashes. regularly he tells me, "i like your eyelashes mommy!" i can just about guarantee he will date girls with beautiful eyelashes when he gets older :)

*he is always making sure everyone is okay... if he senses that i (or sissy or daddy) am frustrated, he'll ask, "what's wrong mommy?" or "you okay mommy?" i love it.

*he loves his little sister... sis has been having a really hard time going to sleep at night lately (without her pacifier, and being sick) so she's been crying a lot. he would do just about anything to make her feel happy. he tells her about things we are doing the next day, he'll offer her things, rub her head, tell her not to be sad, ask if she wants him to get mom and dad. it is so sweet... during the day, he plays with her all day. making each other laugh, getting in trouble together... just doing everything together.

*he is starting pre-k in two weeks... which is probably why i am feeling so sentimental, and wanting to write about him. i can't believe how old he is. i really feel like it was just yesterday he couldn't walk or talk, and would just lay in my arms and watch me. we do a meet the teacher night next week... i hope it goes well. he will be nervous for sure... he's not a big fan of leaving me, but he says he is excited, and hopefully it won't be too hard to make the transition.

*he loves to burp... haha, yes... and i think it is absolutely hilarious. i realize at some point i am going to teach him that it is impolite (like probably next week when he starts school) he tries to say words with his burp, and then dies laughing.. it totally cracks me up.

*his favorite thing to do is yogurt picnics... every single day he requests a yogurt picnic at the park. when he wants you to do something he tries to get you really excited about it... he'll say, "MOMMY! do YOU want to do YOGURT PICNIC AT THE TRADEWINDS PARK!!?!?!" he gets louder and more excited at the end of the sentence. it definitely gets me excited, and most days we end up at the park.

i know that this isn't everything about him, just a few things on my mind.

i love my boy.

sissy + daddy

she is the ultimate definition of a daddy's girl. it is so incredibly sweet. he babies her, cuddles & kisses her, and my very favorite thing they do together...

dancing.

they pick out some special tunes on the iPhone
and jam out together
her favorite move is "the big dip"
it always ends in a slow dance.
and i wonder why i cry at every wedding during the daddy-daughter dance...

let me just tell you, kennedy's wedding day, and her daddy-daughter dance - i am going to be a giant mess.

legendary.

how did i miss this?! a couple weeks ago i had another wedding in waco, and this time stayed with mel & her fam. seriously my friends are the sweetest. it was so fun to spend time with her, and just talk girl talk, and recharge.

then, the night after my wedding we hit up eclipse... i had been DYING to see it, and let me just tell you....
it.was.legendary.

CAUGHT UP!!!!!!!

ahhhhhhhh!!!

can this be true!?!

i am actually caught up on my blog!!!!!!!!!!

after being behind for over 3 MONTHS!!!!!!

i think it's time to celebrate!!!!

poor baby sissy.

she has been feeling sooo super sick. she has had a fever since thursday (and now it's saturday) it goes away with motrin, but then comes back within 5-6 hours, she is miserable though, she has a little bit of a cough, but it seems like that is it. she just feels plain crummy, miserable, no sleep, and super emotional and clingy.

i hope it goes away soon...

for now we are just having lots of cuddles, kisses and motrin

jumping party - amarillo style.

okay, so no, it's not really called jumping party here, it is "jump n jive" but we are going to go ahead and keep calling it jumping party, cuz that name is way more awesome.

the jumping party here is WAAY bigger than the waco one, which probably means lots more big kids, but on wednesday mornings only kids 5 and under can jump! hooray!!

their mascot is this little frog guy, and he made an appearance that sis was thrilled about!
oh and they have lots of fun toys to play with, and ohmygoodnessgracious isn't jade's expression SOOOOOO cute?!?! i love this pic of him.
in other news, i may or may not have blown up at a big kid. remember the whole thing about only 5 and under? well about 30 minutes before big kids were allowed to come in, about 10 big boys came in. one of the kids kept trying to run up the skinny slide that my kids were currently sliding down.

it happened once... i kindly asked him to move

then went and talked to the people at the front desk... they said they were going to talk to them

happened again... same kid... i BLEW up. i was soooo angry, i just couldn't help it.

then this 12-14 year old boy runs over to the corner puts his head in his hands and was being sad. ugh. where is this child's mother, he obviously has emotional and obedience issues. anyway.. it made me feel bad, but honestly, i tried to deal with it nicely, i tried to tell the owners to make them leave, and none of that worked, and he was freaking my kids out....

gotta look out for the best interest of my kids... right?

trio.

it had been a while since we busted out the trio blocks, so we got them out, and we have been playing with them NONSTOP for the last week :)
jade builds things out of blocks all the time, but this is his very first build of following the instructions, and building something real ALL by himself.
he was SO proud and excited. it was adorable.

victory.

cam had his first trial today! it was pretty cool to hear about him in court and being just plain awesome.

so sissy was feeling super proud of him, and gave him a victory foot rub, with lotion and all.
she really loves to try to do sweet things, she is such a sweet baby girl, she did this without anyone suggesting it. love her.
jade had to join in on the fun
random pic of me and sis
i think my husband is seriously awesome.

first amarillo bridal show.

no newspaper picture of me in front of my booth this time :)
it was awesome! i felt great about my booth, and i got a really great response and welcome from all the brides and vendors!

you can kinda tell in these tiny iPhone pics.

making cookies.

lazy days.

we love cuddles & lazy days
you have to know sissy to know how sweet this picture is.
her most precious thing is her blankey... she rubs the silky tags on her face, and it relaxes her, and comforts her.

sharing it with anyone
is the most innocently loving thing she does. i love when she shares it with me.
they are both so sweet, and both so super crazy...

i love lazy days

picnics at the park.

one of our favorite things right now is picnics at the park.

we eat yogurt, or some other healthy delight
run and play and get some exercise

then we usually end up at the playground, in the super hot sun, laughing and playing together.

i love summer.
