she says this to me all the time. it melts my heart. it is usually after i have told her she is my princess, and she responds by saying, "you're my nice flower" such a sweetheart.

sitting on the floor in our bathroom, jamming out to music... this was on a sick day so we danced sitting, instead of standing. this has become one of our fav things to do as a fam.

sissy & daddy cuddling to a slow song

jade and i.. having a cuddle on the couch.

teaching the kids how to play wii.
jade was an awesome bowler... cam was so proud.

sissy had a hair bow holding the button down to help her bowl...
which meant she was awesome too!

Not so great.
So far 2011 hasn't been too kind to our little family. Well, really since we have been in Amarillo we have had someone sick basically at all times. It's getting exhausted. This month has gone a little like this:
1st week January - Both kids had a horrible cold & Kennedy got an ear infection.
2nd week of January - Monday - Thursday (of the week Cam was out of town for a training trip) both kids fever/throwing up, for 3 straight days. We had the floors covered in towels, the couches covered in blankets, and both of their beds covered in blankets. Complete with a throw up bucket for each. I was in complete survival mode. I cleaned up more vomit, did more laundry and got less sleep than I ever imagined possible.
Long story short, I can no longer handle the smell of strawberry nutragrain bars. Really just typing that made me feel sick...

3rd week of January - Cam got sick with a horrible cold, later in the week, Jade caught it. Screaming all day and night on Sunday about how bad his ears hurt. Woke up feeling a little better, so we didn't end up taking him to the doctor.

4th week of January - Jade and Cam still sick. Kennedy and I caught the cold, and somehow sissy added on a stomach bug. She spent all last night and today throwing up.

I'm hoping this ends soon.
I don't know how much longer we can all handle this.

update: this post has been sitting in my drafts without being posted... Sissy had a stomach bug for 4 straight days. On the 3rd night Jade caught it, Saturday was a nightmare. Sissy has been very careful about throwing up into a bucket or the toilet, no matter where she is. Jade has absolutely no desire to get to a toilet or bucket... even when the bucket is right next to him. We've been watching lots of nick jr to pass the time, and early saturday morning he was sitting there watching, and all of a sudden starts throwing up all over himself. He doesn't take his eyes off of Dora, even for a second. I ran over to hold the bucket under him, and said, "Jade let's go to the bathroom come on!" And in between throwing up, he's yelling at me, "NO!! I'm fine!" lol. he kills me. needless to say we had to stay right there with him the whole day with the bucket handy. One of the times he was doing it into the bucket, and Sissy sees him, and gets this panicked look in her eyes, "NO!!!" and just starts throwing up all over herself... as he is throwing up.
seriously, it was another rough week. thankfully jade's only lasted one night and one day. and sis ended that day too.
monday night I caught it, I spent yesterday miserable.. and all the works... I woke up this morning feeling a little better....
i really, really hope this ends soon... have i said that before? i think i have... i really, really do though.

T-REX!!

we love our little discovery center. they recently started building a new display, which we have been very curious about. last time we went, we got to see a little peek! It is a new dino exhibit. It was all blocked off for now... so as we were were watching him, a guy came up to us, and a couple other families and asked if we would come help with some of the testing for trex!! We were thrilled, well jade and i were thrilled, sissy stayed back and watched from afar.

turns out, this trex is interactive. he senses where you are, and responds to what you do! Really cool!! I'm not gonna lie though, it's a tiny bit freaky! I don't blame Sis for standing back! Jade LOVED him though!!

We haven't stopped talking about it since! We can't wait to go back next week, when the exhibit opens!!
everyday things i heart #4

jade is getting so good at writing his name. a couple weeks ago he learned how to write his last name. i love watching him write.

and tucking them into bed

sissy really, really wants to do ballet. i found a class that starts in June that she can get into. we are really excited, and have been practicing lots.

pink lipstick. she loves it. puts it on every single day.

Tea Party - Picnic

we haven't had very many warm days this winter. amarillo is colder than we anticipated. when we had a semi-decent day, we decided we had to get outside and soak in the sunshine... even if it was still a little cold.
Yes, Jade is 100% on board with doing a tea party/picnic with Sissy. For two reasons: he loves his baby sister, and real food was included! :)

i love this little boy.

cheers!

the food was gone, and jade was out, sissy lasted much longer tea party-ing it up. she is such a little girly-girl

donuts with dad + donuts with mom
Jade's school had a special "donuts with dad" day at school. He got to bring Daddy into his school, they sang special songs about their Dad's, like "D-A-D-D-Y, D-A-D-D-Y, D-A-D-D-Y, and Daddy is is name-o!" (to the tune of the bingo song) They had prepared lots of special project for them, including a special tie to wear for the program. It was a very special day for Jaden & Daddy. Of course, because I wasn't there, we don't have pictures, but that's okay! :)
Sissy could not have been more jealous about the whole thing. She cried and cried after they left, so we decided to have a special day of our own. We went to Donut Stop, and had a little "Donuts with Mom". It made her day. She keeps asking to do it now every day we drop off Jade at school. Such a sweet girl. I love my baby.

Happy Birthday to Grandma!!
Grandma came to visit, to watch the kids while I did my Bridal Show this month (Cam was out of town) So we had a little birthday party for her!

Family Pictures!

Back in November, while we were in Utah, we got our extended family pictures taken with the Heyland fam. Aria did an amazing job, considering I'm pretty sure we took them during the coldest day on record, ever... okay, maybe not... but it was probably the coldest my little babes have ever felt.
Our fam

Everyone!

she took some pictures just of me, to use for my website

cam & i... not my fav picture ever.. but i love any chance I get to have a picture of us together!

All the sibs.

Christmas Morning 2010

It was the best morning ever!! I didn't get very many pictures, because we were too busy opening, and enjoying... but we did get lots of it on video... too much video to put on here, but I did want to share one of my favorite clips... this basically sums up our morning... it was very, very exciting! With 4 very, very grateful people! :)
opening their presents from each other

after opening all the presents, setting up and playing

I was equally thrilled, excited and grateful. Among my presents from Cam & the kids were a whole box full of my very favorite super, super delish LUSH bath products. yum. my baths have been so heavenly! Teeth Whitening, a new robe, new lotions, travel books for our upcoming trip to Europe, a waffle maker (from the kids... funny story about that: they went a bought it at Target with Cam, he had told them over and over and over, not to tell Mommy, because it was a surprise. The second I see them, they say, "Guess what we got you? A waffle!!!" It was so so so funny! They were so excited about it, they literally couldn't keep it in for a second) okay back to my gifts :) and these:

It was the best Christmas ever. I love how it gets more and more fun every year. Kids make Christmas SO amazing!!
