We went to the Mavs/jazz game on friday night!! It was so fun! I haven't been a bball fan since I was in high school and was a big Jazz fan. But we absolutely were MAVS fans! Cam has been a fan since we moved to Texas, but this was the first time I really even watched a game, and it was awesome! They won, obviously ;)

The kids were surprisingly way into it too. Sissy perked up anytime the dancers came out, and was seriously concerned why Dirk wasnt playing. (she was finding all the guys on her fan). She held up her fan/picture thinger and waved it all around, because she saw that everyone who got to be on the big screen was doing that. She never made it up there, but it was still sweet.

When we were pulling back into our neighborhood, jade goes, "whew, it's REALLY good to be back in fort worth!" :)

J.S.D. - 1.27.12

Jaden has really never shown interest, or at least asked to have school friends come over to our house to play. He's had friends from church, but never school. Recently he has been asking to have his friend James come over. So for Jade's special day we invite him! Jaden was SO excited, like wanted to go to bed early the night before, just so that the time would come sooner.

When he got here, they were seriously jumping off the walls, out of control. So after trying to chill them out with games, we decided to go to the park. We walked there, and it was so funny listening to their little 5 year old boy conversations, and then they played for a bit, and we ate a picnic lunch. They both took off and wanted to eat there lunch away from me, I'm not gonna lie I was devastated. My baby is growing up, and just wanted to run away with them and eat right by him. But I didn't... I gave him his space, as hard as it was. And then after about 5 minutes they came running back, ad ended up eating with me :) I love my boy. I'm happy he's growing up. It's so fun to watch him along the way!

S.S.D. - 1.26.12

Special day today included:

-shopping for the perfect pink paint for her room
-reading at the library, & reading the new books together at home
-a special valentine love bird art project

On Tuesday after ballet (while jade was still at school) we went to Costco together and ate hot dogs :) we were sitting there eating and she looks over at me with a huge smile on her face and said, "we are having a girls weekend, huh?" she was super bummed that she missed girls weekend with grandma and all her cute aunties, but somehow our "girls weekend-eating-hot-dogs-at-Costco" made up for that a little.

Girls weekend!

I went to Utah last week to have a girls weekend with my Mom & Sisters! I had been so stinkin excited for this trip, and it was every bit as amazing as I had hoped it would be!

The girls came and picked me up at the airport with balloons, and made me feel like a superstar (sundance film festival was in town that week, so we were pretty sure everyone around us thought we were famous ;)

We went to the Hotel we were going to be staying at in downtown SLC, and walked in to this...

yes we had too much fun with all of the $$$$

we got in our comfies and lounged around all night eating yummies (my mom had the rooms stocked with major yummies), playing games, chatting, laughing, and just having the best time 6 girls ever had :)

then we had our favorite things party, which included some awesome stuff...

after staying up way too late, we woke up early the next morning, and got ready and headed over to Bruges Waffles & Frites. itwasamazing!!!

a cute little quaint make-you-feel-like-you-are-in-belgium restaurant, the most delish waffles I have ever tasted in my life.

then we dropped Lauren & Kenz off at the hotel, and the rest of us walked over to the SLC temple, we got there and it was closed for cleaning for the month, something we hadn't anticipated, so we walked back to the hotel and picked up the girls :)

then we drove to gardener village to go to a couple little shops down there, and get a few supplies we were missing for a cute little project my mom brought for us

after some shopping, we went back downtown to Tin Angel, and neat little cafe

then we went over to Gateway Mall and it was snowing the biggest snowflakes ever! You can't really tell in this picture, but it was soooo pretty!!

we shopped, and shopped and shopped. mom gave us $$ to spend on ourselves, and we got some super cute things! me & kenz got tired, and took a little rest on the anthro couch..

went for some hot chocolate to warm us up, except they were out of hot chocolate lids, and so lauren got a regular soda lid... her straw melted all bent from it being so hot, and we are pretty sure she drank some pretty harmful chemicals... but it's all good, cuz she looked super cute doing it :)

then we went to the Sanctuary for some spa time :)

we all got hour massages, and we all laughed and laughed about kenzie's term "man massages"

on Sunday we went to my parents house, I got to see the rest of the fam for a little bit, went to church and their ward, and then Kenz & Lauren dropped me off at the airport.

It felt like the shortest trip ever! It was so worth it though, and so fun to spend that special time with my mom & sisters!!!

I got home late Sunday night (like at 11pm cuz my flight was delayed) to find the kids awake and cuddling in bed with daddy, excited to greet me home!! As short as the trip was, I missed them like crazy, and was so happy to be back home!!!

K.S.D. (aka Kennedy's special day) - 1.19.12

Today was Kennedy's special day...

Each week I have one day of nothing scheduled with each kid, Thursday is Kennedy's and Friday is Jaden's. We usually try to do at least a little something special each week, so I've decided I'm going to start documenting it with K.S.D. & J.S.D. :)

We started our morning off with a little reading date at Barnes & Noble. It's definitely one of our favorite places to go together. We walk around and find our own special books, go find a cozy place to sit and relax and read. It's wonderful. Kennedy LOVES reading. Well, story telling for right now, but I'm sure she isn't too far from reading too!

Then we came home for a playdate with her sweet friend Teagan. Kennedy has been carrying around her "get ready stuff" everywhere. Getting pretty all throughout the day. So today she did Teagan's nails with her little press ons. It was so cute to watch her get so into it! She is such a girly girl!!

Riding the new bikes!!

Grandma bought the kids new bikes when they were here in november! I'm embarrassed to say that until yesterday we had not taken them for a spin yet! Between it being too cold, and the craziness of our lives & the fact that it gets dark so dang early, we just hadn't got to it!

The kids have been begging us! So yesterday right before sunset we went over to the walking trail in our neighborhood and tried them out!!

Jaden loved it. He fell twice hurt his knee both times, and cried both times for just a couple seconds each. Wiped his tears off, and got back on. He cruised back and forth on the trail, with a giant smile on his face :)

Kennedy was not as in love. Well she claims she was now, but the entire time she kept getting frustrated, stuck, going off into the grass, and ended up in tears. It was frustrating. She wants to try again though, and that makes me happy she wants to stick to it. Sometimes I feel like she is Jaden's age, and I expect her to keep up with him. And then I remember she is my baby. And only three. So we will give it another go.
