Our mornings in Rome started out on the Rooftop, eating the most scrumptious breakfasts. The restaurant was inside with giant windows, overlooking Rome, and we walked outside for a bit to take it all in.

the hotel was right next to the Villa Borghese Gardens... more about that on another post, but here it is looking at it from the rooftop

we started our day at Vatican City

everything about the Vatican is so fancy and ornate

long long line to get in to St Peters Basilica

when we finally got there, it was well worth the wait. so incredible.

Michelangelo's Pieta, Mary holding Jesus, made in 1498, it was obviously covered with glass, and it was quite the sight to see.

there is a St Peter statue, that has been long tradition to rub or kiss his feet... it brings you luck, or blessings or something... we did it :) you can see how worn the foot is from so many people rubbing it.

and on to the Sistine Chapel! We were SO excited to see this, it was more amazing than I ever could have imagined...

the creation of Adam... i couldn't believe i was actually seeing this

lovely! Did you have to be sneaky when you were taking pictures because they don't allow you to? :) so excited to come see you guys and you and cam look awesome as usual.
Amazing! Really looks like a beautiful day too. And Lauren before you bust her for taking pictures, remember that you took a piece of the plaster ceiling when it fell down! Busted!
