South Africa 2013 /// Cape Town Day 1

We went to South Africa with the Heyland clan in August 2013! It was the most amazing experience!

The second half of our trip was a safari, so we had to pack everything in duffel bags, and because ours weren't rolling, we had to carry around heavy bags... so fun traveling with my strong man!
 off on an adventure!!!

met up with the rest of the fam in Johannesburg!

and finally arrived in Cape Town!! Our tour guide Robbie took us around in this awesome bus :)
arrived at our hotel, cape royale. it was such a gorgeous hotel!
getting checked in, hanging in the lobby together!

we had free breakfasts included at the hotel, which we all loved and took advantage of a little too much :) the rooms were amazing, they were 2 bedroom suites with a living room, kitchen, laundry, etc, and we shared a suite with Brett& Heather.

Heather & I went down to the lobby to ask a question, and the guy came back up with us to show us how to do something... he opened the door for us, and walked in to this site:
i don't think they were expecting a man to be coming back with us. we were laughing so hard we were crying. these two boys never cease to make me laugh!

early the next morning we woke up and went to church, at the very place where my grandma grew up going to church! And my dad spent time here while he was on his mission as well, he remembers playing basketball in this gym. It was so cool, because a few people knew my great grandparents, and grandma!
then robbie picked us up from church and we hopped back on the bus... don't mind these amazing models ;)

We went out to the cemetery where my great grandma was buried. We didn't know the exact place it was, and the cemetery was huge, so we all split up, and just wandered searching for it. It was so neat when we found it!

then we went down to the waterfront to find some lunch and explore a little!

day one was AWESOME! we went back to the hotel, and spent time together as family, so fun.
